On this day — 29 May 2026 — Shinedown released EI8HT, their eighth studio album via Atlantic Records. And it's already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about rock records of the year.
Twenty-five years after forming in Jacksonville, Florida, Brent Smith, Zach Myers, Eric Bass and Barry Kerch have delivered their most ambitious work to date. Across 18 tracks, EI8HT spans hard rock, power ballads, industrial synth, and even full-on country — debuted at the Grand Ole Opry no less — all tied together by Smith's unmistakable vocals and the band's hard-won songwriting craft.
Standout tracks include the anthemic Safe and Sound, the festival-ready Dance, Kid, Dance, the heart-wrenching ballad Three Six Five, and the acoustic closer The Pilot — one of the most poignant songs the band has ever recorded.
