Leyendas del Rock 2026: Everything You Need to Know About Spain's Greatest Metal Festival

Leyendas del Rock 2026: Everything You Need to Know About Spain's Greatest Metal Festival

What Is Leyendas del Rock?

Leyendas del Rock — Legends of Rock — is one of Europe's most respected heavy music festivals, held annually in Villena, Alicante, south-eastern Spain. Now in its 20th year, it has built a reputation for booking landmark acts, securing exclusive appearances, and delivering a festival experience that punches well above its weight. Unlike festivals that chase mainstream crossover appeal, Leyendas del Rock stays true to its roots — heavy metal, hard rock, thrash, death metal, metalcore, and everything in between.

Leyendas del Rock 2026: The 20th Anniversary Edition

The 2026 edition runs 5–8 August in Villena, Alicante. The lineup for the anniversary year is exceptional, with several acts making exclusive or landmark Spanish appearances.

  • Slaughter to Prevail — exclusive festival appearance in Spain 2026
  • Godsmack — first time ever performing in Spain

Helloween: 40 Years of Pumpkins

Helloween headlining in their 40th anniversary year is a perfect pairing. The German power metal pioneers — responsible for Keeper of the Seven Keys, I Want Out, and some of the most joyful, technically accomplished metal ever recorded — have been on a remarkable run since their reunion brought together Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen alongside longtime members. Forty years in, they remain one of the most energetic live acts in metal. We stock the Official Helloween Logo Black Beanie Hat — officially licensed and available now.

Godsmack: A Spanish Debut 25 Years in the Making

It's taken a quarter of a century, but Godsmack are finally playing Spain for the first time. The Boston heavy rockers — known for crushing riffs, Sully Erna's powerhouse vocals, and one of the tightest rhythm sections in hard rock — have been a dominant force since 1998. Albums like Faceless, IV, and Lighting Up The Sky have cemented their status as one of America's great hard rock bands. We stock a full range of official Godsmack T-shirts including the World Tour tee, Boston Skull, and the Celtic design in forest green.

Sepultura: The Final Spanish Show

Few moments at Leyendas del Rock 2026 carry as much weight as Sepultura's appearance. The Brazilian thrash and groove metal legends are playing their final ever show in Spain. Their legacy is immense — from the raw thrash of Schizophrenia (1987) and Beneath the Remains (1989) to the genre-defining Chaos A.D. (1993) and the tribal experimentation of Roots (1996). Seeing them in Spain one final time is a privilege. We stock official Sepultura merch including textile posters for Roots and Schizophrenia, and the official Logo Bandana.

In Flames: Exclusive Spanish Festival Appearance

In Flames are one of the architects of the Gothenburg melodic death metal sound — a genre that has influenced countless bands across three decades. Their exclusive festival appearance in Spain at Leyendas del Rock 2026 is a significant booking for fans of both their classic era and their more recent melodic rock direction.

Slaughter to Prevail: Exclusive Spanish Festival Appearance

Slaughter to Prevail have become one of the most talked-about acts in modern deathcore. Alex Terrible's vocal range is genuinely extraordinary, and their live show has a reputation for intensity that few bands can match. Their exclusive Spanish festival appearance is a major coup for the event.

The Rest of the Bill

Nothing More bring progressive hard rock and a theatrical live show. Of Mice & Men represent metalcore with force. Dark Tranquillity — another Gothenburg pioneer — add serious credibility. Deicide bring death metal orthodoxy, Mushroomhead their masked industrial metal spectacle, and Spanish acts WarCry, Dark Moor, and Latzen give the festival strong local flavour. We stock official merch for Of Mice & Men and Deicide too.

Why Leyendas del Rock Matters

In an era where many European metal festivals have grown so large they've lost their identity, Leyendas del Rock has maintained its character. It takes its booking seriously, treats its audience as genuine music fans, and consistently delivers lineups that reward loyalty to the heavy music world. The 20th anniversary edition is a landmark moment for a festival that has earned its place among Europe's essential heavy music events.
