About Bon Jovi
Bon Jovi were formed in Sayreville, New Jersey, in 1983 by frontman Jon Bon Jovi (born John Francis Bongiovi Jr.). The classic lineup — Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, bassist Alec John Such, and drummer Tico Torres — became one of the most successful rock acts of the 1980s and beyond.
The band rose to global fame with their third studio album Slippery When Wet (1986), which produced two of rock's most enduring anthems: "Livin' on a Prayer" and "You Give Love a Bad Name". The album spent eight weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 and remains one of the best-selling rock albums of all time.
Bon Jovi Discography Highlights
Bon Jovi's catalogue spans four decades of rock music, from their hard rock roots to arena-filling anthems and country-tinged ballads. Here are the albums that defined their legacy:
Slippery When Wet (1986)
The album that made Bon Jovi a global phenomenon. Slippery When Wet produced the iconic singles "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Livin' on a Prayer", and "Wanted Dead or Alive". It remains one of the best-selling rock albums of all time and the centrepiece of the legendary Slippery When Wet Tour '86-'87 — one of the highest-grossing tours of the decade.
New Jersey (1988)
The follow-up to Slippery When Wet was equally massive, spawning five top-ten singles including "Bad Medicine", "I'll Be There for You", and "Born to Be My Baby". The New Jersey tour ran for over a year and cemented Bon Jovi's status as the world's biggest rock band.
Keep the Faith (1992)
After a hiatus, Bon Jovi returned with a more mature sound on Keep the Faith, featuring the singles "Keep the Faith", "Bed of Roses", and "In These Arms".
These Days (1995)
Widely regarded as one of Bon Jovi's finest albums, These Days featured "This Ain't a Love Song" and "Something for the Pain", and produced one of their most successful European tours.
Crush (2000)
The album that introduced Bon Jovi to a new generation, featuring the global smash "It's My Life" — one of the most recognisable rock anthems of the 2000s.
Have a Nice Day (2005) & Lost Highway (2007)
Bon Jovi continued their commercial dominance with Have a Nice Day and the country-influenced Lost Highway, which debuted at number one in the US and UK.
