About Chris Stapleton
Christopher Alvin Stapleton was born on 15 April 1978 in Lexington, Kentucky. Before launching his solo career, Stapleton spent over a decade as one of Nashville's most in-demand songwriters, penning hits for artists including Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Adele, and Darius Rucker. He also served as the lead vocalist of the bluegrass group The SteelDrivers, who won a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album in 2010.
Stapleton's solo debut Traveller (2015) was a revelation — a raw, soulful album that defied genre conventions and became one of the most critically acclaimed country albums in years. His performance at the 2015 CMA Awards alongside Justin Timberlake introduced him to a massive mainstream audience overnight.
