About Echo & The Bunnymen

Echo & The Bunnymen were formed in Liverpool, England, in 1978. The classic lineup — Ian McCulloch (vocals, guitar), Will Sergeant (guitar), Les Pattinson (bass), and Pete de Freitas (drums) — became one of the defining acts of the post-punk era. Ian McCulloch's brooding baritone vocals and Will Sergeant's distinctive guitar work created a sound that was simultaneously dark and melodic, melancholic and euphoric.

Echo & The Bunnymen's influence on alternative music is immense — they are cited as a key influence by artists including Oasis, The Killers, Interpol, and U2. Their 1984 album Ocean Rain is widely regarded as one of the greatest albums ever made.
