About Primal Scream
Primal Scream were formed in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1982 by vocalist Bobby Gillespie and guitarist Jim Beattie. The band's classic lineup also includes guitarist Andrew Innes, bassist Simone Marie Butler, and drummer Martin Duffy. Bobby Gillespie's background as the original drummer for The Jesus and Mary Chain gave Primal Scream deep roots in the alternative music scene.
Primal Scream's career is defined by constant reinvention. Their 1991 album Screamadelica — a fusion of rock, acid house, gospel, and psychedelia — is one of the most important and beloved British albums ever made, winning the inaugural Mercury Prize in 1992.
